# Insights

Insights are free and show on your device. Rata reads no data on a server for them.

## Insights for one group

Open a group and tap the chart icon at the top. You see:

- **Your share** for each month. Tap a month to see it.
- **By category**: where the money went.
- **Per person**: what each person spent.
- **Balance age**: how long each balance is open. Tap **Remind** to send a reminder.

Some group types add more. A trip shows the cost per person per day and the budget used. A Home group shows the monthly budget. A poker group shows your result for each night (won up, lost down), your wins, your best night and the season table.

## Insights for all groups

On Home, tap **Insights**. You see your spend for each month across all your groups, by group and by category.

## What counts as spend

- Your spend is your share of each expense, not what you paid.
- Payments are not spend. They only move a balance.
- Poker results are gains and losses, so they are not spend. Food and drinks at a poker night are spend.
- Amounts in other currencies use the daily reference rates.
